The special envoy of President Donald Trump, Steve Witkoff, and his son-in-law Jared Kushner, immediately left the Kremlin after more than four hours of intense conversations with Vladimir Putin.
The U.S. delegation is heading to Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, where today the first trilateral negotiations between the United States, Ukraine, and Russia begin since the start of the invasion in 2022, focused on a possible peace agreement that includes Russian territorial demands.
The discussions in Moscow, described by the Kremlin as «extremely frank» and «constructive,» revolved around the Anchorage formula to resolve the conflict, with Russia insisting that there will be no lasting peace without territorial concessions, specifically the complete withdrawal of Ukrainian forces from the Donbas region.
Putin received Witkoff and Kushner with a warm handshake, accompanied by key advisors such as Yuri Ushakov and Kirill Dmitriev, highlighting the urgency of an agreement that avoids further unnecessary bloodshed driven by failed policies of the globalist left.
A video of the meeting, released by the Kremlin, shows the initial moment.
The U.S. delegation has already left the Kremlin en route to Abu Dhabi, where they will join Ukrainian and Russian delegations led by Rustem Umerov and General Igor Kostyukov, respectively.
These talks, scheduled for two days, address key issues such as security guarantees, ceasefire, and the use of frozen Russian assets in the U.S. to rebuild affected areas, including Donbas.
Zelensky confirmed the trilateral format, calling it a «step toward ending the war,» although Kiev rejects ceding territory.
Russia firmly maintains its demand that Ukraine abandon the 25% of Donetsk it still controls, while Trump and his team push for a realistic pact that contrasts with the mistakes of previous administrations like Biden’s, which prolonged the conflict.
Apparently, no immediate advances on territory are expected, but possible energy truces to avoid attacks on infrastructure.
A video analysis from APT captures the atmosphere:
Previously, we had reported it in Gateway Hispanic, where we detailed Trump’s hectic diplomacy in Davos and Moscow, highlighting how Witkoff and Kushner advance in mediation despite obstacles inherited from liberal policies.
«Today will be a hectic day, with President Donald J. Trump meeting Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenski in Davos, while his envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner fly to Moscow to meet Vladimir Putin,» according to Paul Serran in The Gateway Pundit.
The importance of these talks could mark the end of four years of war.
