A 15-year-old Connecticut boy was killed, and another teen injured, in a weekend burst of gunfire inside the Bronx public housing building where he once lived, cops and law enforcement sources said.
Eric Aitken, who most recently called Waterbury home, was found in the stairwell of the Eastchester Houses building on Adee Avenue near Pearsall Avenue around 6:25 p.m. Saturday, with a gunshot wound to his chest, authorities and sources said.
The teen was taken by EMS to Jacobi Medical Center, where he was initially listed in critical condition but later died, cops said.
The other boy, 14, was shot in the left arm – but bolted from the building after the shooting, making it a few blocks to the corner of Laconia and Arnow avenues, according to police and sources.
He was rushed in a marked police cruiser to Jacobi, where he was listed in stable condition, cops said.
The violence stemmed from a clash between two groups inside the housing development, where Aitken had lived before moving to Connecticut, according to sources.
It remained unclear Monday whether Aitken was the intended target, according to the sources.
No arrests had been made by Monday afternoon, cops said.
