A woman was killed early Saturday after allegedly pointing a handgun at state troopers who were responding to a reported domestic dispute, police said.

The incident unfolded around 2:30 a.m. as state troopers arrived at a home on Forrest Drive in the Orange County town of Deerpark, in upstate New York near the Pennsylvania border.

When the woman emerged minutes later, she appeared to point a black handgun at cops — and two of them opened fire, state police said.

The woman, who has not been publicly identified, was taken to Bon Secours Community Hospital in Port Jervis and later died.

The man had been hurt during the domestic dispute and was treated at the scene for non-life-threatening injuries, authorities said.

No troopers were hurt.

It’s was not immediately clear what sparked the original incident.

State Police spokeswoman Trooper Jennifer Alvarez declined to say what type of gun the woman was carrying, noting the investigation remains ongoing, according to the Times Union

The shooting marked the fourth involving upstate police just this week, the outlet reported.

David M. Levine, 69, of Malta, was reportedly shot and killed by troopers Wednesday after he allegedly fired shots using a high-powered rifle outside of their Malta barracks.

A day later, Saratoga County authorities fatally shot 37-year-old Brandon R. Moore, who reportedly pointed a BB gun at police after barricading himself in his Malta apartment.

Two troopers were hurt during the incident, although it’s unclear how, the Times Union reported.

The same day, state police arrested Markell D. Jarrette, 29, after he was injured during a gunfire exchange with a Sullivan County sheriff’s deputy outside of a Monticello apartment complex, the outlet said.
