Southern California drivers will soon find some relief from skyrocketing gas prices as a sprawling Costco gas station is set to open in Orange County.
The station in Mission Viejo will mark the first standalone gas station from the popular members-only chain when it debuts this summer.
Costco gas stations traditionally accompany their super-sized warehouse stores, though not every outlet features one.
The new station will span more than 17,000 square-feet and include an astonishing 40 fueling pumps.
Costco gas — which tend to offer prices $0.05 to $0.40 cheaper than local competitors — will only be available to Costco members.
The new station will operate from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Saturday when it opens at the end of June.

Costco is also building a standalone gas station in Hawaii, which is expected to open in 2027.
News of the station’s pending opening comes as gas prices hit an average of $5.71 a gallon in Los Angeles County and $5.69 in Orange County on Thursday, according to AAA.
