Crazed woman who allegedly bashed diner with glass bottle, attacked 4 others in random spree is cut loose by judge: DA

The unhinged woman who allegedly whacked a Brooklyn restaurant patron with a glass bottle before socking four others was cut loose by a judge Monday — even as prosecutors’ pushed to hold her on bail.

Hilda Grullon, 44 – accused of randomly bludgeoning a 63-year-old man dining inside the Prospect Heights Tex-Mex joint Burrito Bar & Kitchen before randomly attacking four other people on the street Saturday – was granted supervised release by Judge Jacob Zelmanovitz.

The deranged suspect – who sources say has seven prior convictions, including for assaults – was sprung despite prosecutors’ request that she be held on $40,000 cash bail or $80,000 bond, the DA’s office said.

Grullon allegedly attacked her first unsuspecting victim inside the eatery on Flatbush Avenue near Prospect Place around 3:30 p.m., cops said.

She then barreled out of the eatery and ambushed four more people — including a 52-year-old man and two women, 20 and 53, whom she clobbered in the face.

She bashed one of those victims with a cell phone, court papers claimed.

The male pedestrian was walking ahead of his wife and two kids, 8 and 5, when he was hit, the complaint said.

During her spree, Grullon also yelled and cursed as she swung a knife at another woman, court papers said.

That victim was not hit, but shaken as Grullon allegedly menaced her, according to court docs.

“She didn’t have any facial expression, like, ‘I’m angry’ or whatever,” one of the victims, who asked to remain anonymous, previously told The Post of her attacker. “She just had a stone face.”

“She looks well put together,” the victim added. “She doesn’t look homeless, she doesn’t look dirty. Except for the blood streaming down one side of her face.”

Grullon faces a laundry list of charges, including assault, attempted assault, menacing, endangering the welfare of a child, criminal possession of a weapon and harassment, according to the complaint.

She’s due back in court on June 1, online records show.

Zelmanovitz, whose career on the bench spans more than 20 years, was officially inducted as a Civil Court judge back in June, but was “seconded” to Criminal Court for an “undisclosed amount of time,” The Brooklyn Eagle previously reported

At the time, he said his colleagues considered him a “lawyer’s lawyer.”

“I really hope to bring humility to the bench,’ he told the paper, “and an understanding of what people who appear before me are going through.”
