Singer D4vd is being eyed as a suspect in the death of the runaway teen found dismembered in his abandoned Tesla’s trunk — and he reportedly may have had help.
Investigators probing the death of Celeste Rivas Hernandez are said to be zeroing in on the songwriter and believe he may have played a role in the 14-year-old’s demise after her rotting remains were discovered in Los Angeles earlier this year, police sources told KABC.
The “Romantic Homicide” singer, 20, likely got help trying to hide her body in his car, the sources allege – adding that it would have taken multiple people to dismember her, too.
Cops are currently trying to narrow down the exact role D4vd — whose real name is David Anthony Burke — and other apparent suspects allegedly played.
They are also digging into whether Hernandez was murdered or if her death was the result of something like an overdose, the sources said.
The medical examiner was working to determine an exact cause of death but has been delayed because Hernandez’s remains were so badly decayed.
The teen’s body was found wrapped in plastic on Sept. 8 – the day after what would have been her 15th birthday — when the singer’s car was brought to a tow lot after being abandoned on a Hollywood Hills street.
Police are still trying to determine exactly how long the car was parked there but it had been slapped with a ticket roughly two weeks earlier.
The car was later towed — but the teen’s body wasn’t found for several more days when employees at the tow lot reported a foul stench.
Cops believe Hernandez, who repeatedly ran away from home and was reported missing in early 2024, likely died sometime in the spring.
Meanwhile, D4vd allegedly hasn’t been cooperating with cops since the investigation kicked off.

Still, connections between the teen and the pop star trickled out as the investigation unfolded, including screenshots of old messages on D4vd’s Discord fan server that showed he was once rumored to be dating a teen named “Celeste.”
D4vd also once made an unreleased track in which he mentioned the name “Celeste” twice, and her mom noted the teen had been dating someone named “David.”
The LAPD haven’t yet confirmed if they are treating the singer as a suspect.
