A Glendale firefighter was taken into custody Wednesday morning after his wife was found possibly bludgeoned to death with an axe during a heated argument at their North Hollywood home, according to reports.
The off-duty first responder waved down a Los Angeles Police Department patrol car miles from his home on Satsuma Avenue, and told them he’d gotten into an argument with his wife and couldn’t reach her, requesting a welfare check, local outlets reported.
Cops arrived to find a gruesome, bloody scene and found the woman, who appeared to be in her 40s or 50s, dead inside the home, FOX11 reported.

Investigators believe the victim, who was married to the firefighter, according to FOX11, was repeatedly struck with an axe, according to the report.
The weapon was found at the scene, FOX11 said.
