Grisly video emerges of Ohio woman allegedly killing, eating cat — but case not connected to migrants in Springfield eating pets

Grisly video has emerged of a blood-soaked woman after she was allegedly caught killing and eating a cat in Ohio — but she’s neither a Haitian migrant nor anywhere near Springfield.

Alexis Ferrell, 27, was arrested and charged back on Aug. 16 after distraught witnesses called 911 to report that they’d spotted her allegedly eating the feline in a neighborhood just outside Canton, WHIO reported.

Newly released footage from last month’s sick ordeal started gaining traction after former President Donald Trump and others amplified false rumors that Haitian immigrants were eating pets in the town of Springfield, OH — some 150 miles and two hours away from where Ferrell was nabbed.

The bodycam video from Ferrell’s arrest shows cops arriving at the scene to find her allegedly hunched over on all fours as she devoured the animal.

“What did you do? Why did you kill the cat?” one officer can be heard saying.

Ferrell, who had allegedly tortured and killed the feline in front of horrified onlookers just moments earlier, was covered in its blood, cops said.

She was cuffed and slapped with a slew of charges, including prohibitions concerning companion animals, cruelty to animals and disorderly conduct.

The details of Ferrell’s arrest come as the falsehoods about Springfield’s Haitian immigrants only continued to spread online — including some who have claimed the bodycam footage is proof of the malicious animal-eating rumors.

Ferrell, however, is not Haitian, the outlet noted.

She was born in Ohio and graduated from McKinley High School in Canton in 2015, records show.

The claims were amplified earlier this week when Trump took to the presidential debate stage and declared that migrants in Springfield had been abducting and eating pets.

“They’re eating the dogs. They’re eating the cats. They’re eating the pets of the people that live there,” the Republican nominee said.

Debate moderators were quick to fact-check him and point out that city officials have said the claims are not true.

Trump’s comments, though, echoed claims made by his campaign — including his running mate, Ohio Sen. JD Vance and other Republicans.

Knocking down the rumors, Springfield city manager, Bryan Heck, said there was “no credible reports of specific claims of pets being harmed, injured or abused by individuals within the immigrant community.”

Meanwhile, Ferrell — who is being held on a $100,000 bond at the Stark County Jail — has since pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity. She is due to face a competency hearing on Oct. 15.
