Leftist streamer Hasan Piker has been banned from entering the UK — and of course he’s blaming Israel, claiming it’s a massive conspiracy to silence him.
Piker is the nephew of “The Young Turks” founder Cenk Uygur, who has also been blocked from entering the UK ahead of this week’s South by Southwest festival in London.
“I’ve been banned from the UK. I tried to get on a flight to London to attend SXSW London and give a speech at Oxford. I’ve been banned for criticizing Israel. Are we free anymore? This is oppression of Western citizens by our own governments on behalf of a different country!” Uygur said in an X post on Sunday, which Piker shared.
“The UK has revoked my visa as well,” Piker said. “All at the behest of Israel. The west is betraying ‘liberal values’ for a genocidal fascist foreign government. Soon we will all become Israel.”
Piker, known as HasanAbi online, launched a blistering attack on the UK government in a Twitch stream — accusing London of caving to pro-Israeli groups.
“I’ve been banned from the UK. I’ve been to the UK on numerous occasions, and all of the things they’re complaining about now are things I’ve said before,” he raged.
He branded the decision “f—ing ridiculous.”
Piker claimed he was blocked from entering due to his criticism of Israel, adding “Israel advocacy organizations have unbelievable amounts of power over what even the United Kingdom has to say and do.
“If you’re an avowed anti-Zionist, your travel will be restricted.”
He accused the London government of caving to pressure from pro-Israel groups.
Piker was due to speak at the SXSW event, where his uncle was scheduled to appear.
The influencer has sparked fury with some of his claims. He previously said Hamas was “1,000 times better than Israel,” and during an episode of “Pod Save America,” he claimed he “would vote for Hamas over Israel every single time.”
In August 2019, he claimed “America deserved 9/11,” a comment he later admitted was “inappropriate.”
Piker also sparked controversy by describing anti-ICE demonstrators protesting outside Newark’s Delaney Hall immigration center as “wonderful people.”
British lawmakers had called for Piker’s visa to be revoked ahead of the SXSW event – with Labour MP David Taylor saying his appearance was “not conducive to the public good,” as reported by Novara Media.
The UK Home Office hasn’t commented on Piker’s case – but Uygur’s visa was canceled last week, according to the Times of London.
Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood ruled his appearance wasn’t “conducive to the public good.”
