Cops are hunting for a heartless New York subway thief who stole a sleeping passenger’s American Bully and took off with it in a brazen robbery in the Bronx.

The pup was snatched from its 45-year-old owner on a northbound D train close to the Bainbridge Avenue and East 206th Street station at around 6 a.m. on Sunday morning, NYPD sources said on Wednesday.

The unidentified dognapper then took off with the black and brown dog, police said.

“The individual is described as a male with a dark complexion, approximately 20–25 years of age, slender build, medium length black braids, brown eyes and a black goatee,” police said.

A video of the smirking suspect going through a subway turnstile wearing a black faded jacket, black t-shirt, shorts and shoes, along with a black Yankees baseball cap was shared by police.

So far there have been no arrests and the investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
