The pregnant mother whose unborn baby also died after she was struck and killed while riding her bike with her family has been identified as a successful executive at Google — as her husband speaks out since tragic death this weekend.
Regan Cole-Graham was seven months pregnant with a baby girl when an elderly driver fatally hit her in Los Angeles’ Playa del Rey neighborhood Saturday evening, just a short distance from their home, according to police.
The 36-year-old mom was rushed to a local hospital where her premature baby was delivered before the mother died. The baby girl lived for a short time in the NICU before also dying, family members announced Monday.
Her heartbroken husband, Matt Graham, told the Post Tuesday that Cole-Graham was an “amazing wife” and “the world’s best mother.”
Cole-Graham had worked for Google in Los Angeles since 2019, where she served as Consumer Marketing Lead and later Brand Partnerships Lead and orchestrated a multi-million dollar partnership with Live Nation among other deals, according to her LinkedIn profile.
Before that, she worked as a Senior Product Marketing Manager for AT&T and marketing manager at DirecTV, where her father also worked as an executive and helped her get her first job after she graduated from San Diego State University, her family’s lawyer said.
Cole-Graham was riding an electric bike with her husband, Matt Graham, and their two sons, ages 3 and 18 months, on Saturday evening when an elderly driver traveling in the same direction crashed into her and the 3-year-old at the intersection of Pershing Drive and Manchester Avenue.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and alcohol and drugs were not a factor, according to LAPD. The child suffered minor injuries and was hospitalized in stable condition.
No arrests have been made.
“This case really represents one of the most profound losses imaginable. It’s hard for me to even wrap my head around it,” the family’s attorney, Brian Breiter, told the Post on Tuesday.
“This is the hardest time anyone could imagine, and I just want them to be together. Imagine a three year old little boy and an 18 month old child witnessing that?” Breiter continued.
“And then, of course, their unborn sister, who survived in the NICU but unfortunately didn’t make it.”
Breiter said he’s reviewed horrific footage showing the crash, which remains under investigation by authorities.
He noted the driver’s age at that “at some point it times to take the keys away” from some people.
A GoFundMe campaign has raised more than $170,000 for the family. The fundraiser exploded after independent journalist Chris Cillizza revealed on social media that he was a college friend of Graham.
Heartbreaking images shared on the fundraiser’s page show the husband and wife smiling with their two sons on a beach at sunset, her pregnant belly prominent.
