The Iran War Powers Resolution failed to pass a vote in the US House of Representatives today.
The War Powers Resolution was rejected – 219 nays to 212 yays.
Bill Title and Description: Directing the President pursuant to section 5(c) of the War Powers Resolution to remove United States Armed Forces from unauthorized hostilities in the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The vote failed the day after a similar bid failed in the US Senate. All Republicans voted against the resolution except for Thomas Massie (R-KY) and Warren Davidson (R-OH).
Two-faced Democrats have criticised Trump for launching strikes without congressional approval and questioned whether the US faced the kind of “imminent” threat that would legally allow him to take military action on his own.
Of course, Democrats said nothing during Barack Obama’s presidency when he bombed seven different countries without congressional approval.
Barack Obama dropped more than 26,000 bombs on 7 countries without congressional approval.
The US and Israel launched attacks on Iran on Saturday, six days ago. Iranian leader Ayatollah Khamenei was killed in the bombings on the first day of the war.
