‘Jealous’ girlfriend who shot boyfriend multiple times point blank, out on bail as victim fears for life

A crazed, jealous girlfriend who shot her boyfriend in a Texas field until she ran out of bullets has been bonded out of jail, leaving her now-ex fearing for his life.

Alexys Pinto, 23, is accused of luring her boyfriend to a secluded area in Houston’s South Side where the couple would watch the sunset, only for her to pull out a gun and start shooting on Sept. 5.

Elvis Muñoz recalled the horrifying moment his then-girlfriend began shooting at him, as he was shot in both hands, the stomach and chest as his death was “supposed to be quick.”

Pinto, who was arrested and charged with aggravated assault on a family member, was originally booked into Harris County Jail with a bail set at $75,000.

Two months after her arrest, a Houston court lowered her bail to $10,000, which was paid and Pinto was released from jail on Nov. 15, according to court documents viewed by The Post.

The shock release has caused Muñoz to blast the court system for allowing his ex-girlfriend free only months after she allegedly tried to kill him.

“You’re willing to take care of someone and love them so much for three years and for them to pay you with bullets, try to take your life,” Muñoz told KHOU.

Muñoz, who worked as a mechanic before the shooting, is now left with limited movements in his hands.

“I took several shots. I fought for my life for hours,” he added.

“I am furious that the system is not doing their part,” Muñoz’s sister Ana Fernandez told the outlet. “Because someone stated she has mental illness.”

Pinto was found to have “a mental illness or to be a person with an intellectual disability” according to a form signed by Harris County Hearing Judge Sharon Chu on Sept. 21.

Her frustration with Muñoz started earlier in the day on Sept. 5, when a client dropped off a car for Muñoz to fix leaving Pinto irritated.

“[Pinto] was irate and was attempting to strike (Muñoz) which led to him grabbing her by her wrists and asking her to calm down,” charging documents alleged.

Pinto allegedly tried to kick one of the couple’s dogs to get it inside the house, before she asked Muñoz to take her to see the sunset.

When the couple made it to the field near State Highway 288 and Airport Blvd., Pinto reportedly ran from the car as Muñoz shouted, “Babe, babe.”

“Teach me about deer hunting, you really think I’m going to go deer hunting out here? F–k you. What the f–k is wrong with you doing me like that! Stupid ass” Pinto allegedly said as the couple stood five feet apart.

Muñoz questioned what Pinto was talking about before she pulled out the gun and began firing at him, striking him in the chest.

Pinto, who was reportedly holding the gun in a “titled manner” continued shouting insults at Muñoz as both of his hands were hit.

“That’s when I felt my left hand get hit,” Muñoz told KHOU. “Like I just felt my hand get hot. I was running, holding my chest and stomach.”

Muñoz says he attempted to run away as he held his chest, only to trip and fall as he laid on the ground bleeding in pain.

“Oh my God, it’s not my time, what did I do, what did I do,” Muñoz said according to the arrest affidavit.

“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to do you like that. I didn’t shoot you in the right places,” Muñoz recalled Pinto saying as she stood above him. “I didn’t mean to do you like this. This was supposed to be quick.”

Pinto fired a shot directly at Muñoz’s face, but was reportedly blocked by his hands.

When Pinto ran out of bullets, Muñoz convinced his now-ex to get him to help, where she drove him to a gas station as she talked to her father on the phone.

“Told her that I loved her, and I still wanted to be with her, I wanted to still grow with her, have children with her and just basically trying to get into her head to convince her to help me.” Muñoz told KPRC.

An ambulance met the couple at the gas station three and a half miles from where the shooting took place.

Muñoz was transported to a hospital where he underwent several surgeries, including one to remove a bullet from his chest the day she bailed out of jail.

“She’ll be jealous, controlling, she would isolate me from family and friends. She holds grudges,” said Muñoz.

Pinto’s bail conditions does not allow her to be near Muñoz or his family and has to wear an ankle monitor.
