Nearly 30,000 people were left without power for hours on Thursday after a truck crashed into a utility pole on Long Island’s wine trail in Southold, a report said.

Police in Southold said the box truck collided with a wired pole on Middle Road just past Sparkling Pointe Vineyard by Kenneys Road around 10:20 a.m.

The driver, a 34-year-old man, may have suffered a medical episode behind the wheel and was treated for minor injuries at Greenport’s Stony Brook Eastern Long Island Hospital.

The road-closing collision sparked power outages on both the North and South Forks of the east end, Newsday reported.

The crash also impacted scheduled maintenance by PSEG Long Island, wiping out the use of a backup circuit, according to the outlet.

In addition to the surrounding Southold area, Shelter Island and the South Fork from Wainscott to Montauk were all impacted, according to the East Hampton Star.

With the cold weather complicating the situation, the East Hampton Town Senior Center and Montauk Library were used as warming centers following the accident.

All power was restored to impacted customers shortly after 2:30, reported 27East.
