A Metrolink Los Angeles train slammed into a car Wednesday morning, killing one person and injuring three others — including a bystander belted with twisted-metal debris, officials said.
The train had 150 people on board when it collided with the vehicle en route to Union Station in Glendale at about 9:04 a.m., police and Metrolink officials confirmed.
The bystander was rushed to the hospital after he was hit by airborne pieces of the obliterated vehicle, according to Metrolink.

Passengers on board said they felt a sudden jolt and heard the loud crash.
“It made a very loud smashing noise, and you could feel the impact on the train,” one regular commuter told The Post while still on the train.

An announcement made to riders on board confirmed the collision and that someone had been killed, said the passenger, who is a USC professor.

The train later slowed and stopped at San Fernando and Colorado, where firefighters walked through the cars checking on passengers.

The sheriff’s department is also on the scene. Metro Link said it is working with the new crew to determine if the train can complete its original journey.
Video shared with The Post shows multiple fire trucks and police vehicles at the scene.
The train remained on the tracks as crews continue their investigation and passengers were told it could take up to three hours until they were let off the train.
