The mom of a Brooklyn high-schooler who allegedly had his head slammed into a wall by his football coach says she is not surprised by new claims that another player was sexually assaulted at the school.
Deslyn Willock — who filed a $2.5 million lawsuit against James Madison High School and former JV football coach Nicholas Nugent over the alleged physical assault on her son — claims the century-old institution dropped the ball again when another player was reported assaulted during a hazing incident there last week.
“I’m not really surprised at all about what’s going on with that team,” Willock told The Post on Sunday of James Madison, which was founded in 1925 and whose alums include US Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and the late Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
“Look at the people at the school. They don’t care about the safety of these kids. They’re only interested in saving the face of the school. Who’s protecting these kids?”
Police sources have told The Post that three Madison JV football players — two age 14 and one 15 — were arrested and the team’s season abruptly halted over the alleged sexual hazing assault.
According to sources, the victim was dragged into the locker room by the three other players after being left unsupervised about 5:20 p.m. Wednesday.
The teen thugs forcibly removed the boy’s pants and underwear, with one of the assailants then slapping the victim’s penis twice, sources said.
The boy’s mom later reported the alleged incident to police.
Officials at the school and in the athletic program at the Midwood campus have not responded to requests for comment about the incident.
Willock said she’s been given the silent treatment from the school herself.
Her son, Shayson Willock, then 14, had his head smashed into a wall by one of his coaches in September 2023 because he fell asleep at a team meeting, according to the family’s lawsuit.
The now-ex-coach, Nicholas Nugent, was charged with assault and menacing last year, with the case still pending in Brooklyn court and scheduled for a hearing next month, records show.
Nugent pleaded not guilty to the charges.
In 2015, a teacher also was accused of having sex daily with students.
“A lot of parents don’t know what’s going on,” Deslyn Willock said of the school, whose students once included famed comedian Chris Rock before he dropped out. “They don’t know because [school officials] don’t want the parents to know.
“What happened with my son, they never told anyone,” she added. “Most parents at that school still don’t know anything. … They don’t know what happened this latest incident. They don’t know unless it’s on the news and they see it.”
