A newborn baby was found dead behind a Bronx building in a disturbing broad daylight Wednesday discovery, cops said.
The child – with its umbilical cord still attached – was found around 11:15 a.m. on the ground in the rear of an apartment building on St. Lawrence Avenue near Gleason Avenue in Soundview, authorities and sources said.
The baby, whose gender was not immediately known, was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS.
The circumstances of the infant’s death were not immediately known, and the city medical examiner’s office will make an official determination, cops said.
No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing, police said.
