A New Jersey doofus who busted into Nancy Pelosi’s office during the Jan. 6 riot — and posted video of his antics to Instagram, handing prosecutors proof of his crime — has pleaded guilty.
Christian Alfonso, 31, of Galloway admitted Friday in federal court in Washington, DC, that he documented his invasion of the Capitol that day — noting how he stayed in the building for about 13 minutes after he and other fanatical supporters of former President Donald Trump broke in and trashed the place.
Alfonso said he eventually made his way to the former House speaker’s office, where he took photos and video — then posted them to his Instagram account, according to the Star-Ledger.
FBI agents had interviewed Alonso just five days after the riot, but he told them he wasn’t in the Capitol that day and that any footage he posted was taken by other people.
But when investigators searched his cellphone records and other data, they found that he was indeed in and around the area that day and had taken footage and photos, the Ledger said.
They also found other people who took photos that day — and Alfonso was in the background.
Alonso pleaded to being disorderly or disruptive in a Capitol building and parading, demonstrating or picketing in a Capitol building, the Ledger said.
He’s scheduled to be sentenced in January.
Authorities picked him up in Camden, NJ, earlier this year.
More than 1,000 people have been convicted of charges stemming from the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol, with about 350 trials still pending, according to CBS News.
