Heartless robbers stole a French bulldog during a Brooklyn home invasion Monday when the thieves appeared to target an $8,000 Pokemon card collection, cops and sources said.
Three or four gun-toting dognappers forced their way past a 62-year-old man into a Bushwick apartment on Myrtle Avenue around 2:15 a.m., stealing the resident’s cellphone, according to authorities and law enforcement sources.
The goons then snatched the pooch, named Coco, from a 27-year-old man in the home, the sources added.
The bandits grabbed about $8,000 worth of Pokémon cards from the dog owner, the sources said.
The dognappers then left the apartment complex and had not been caught several hours later, cops said.
The stickup comes several months after a pair of thieves stole two French bulldogs and a large stash of clothing from a Long Island City home over the summer, authorities said.
It also comes just weeks after a brazen trio stormed into an event at Poké Court in Manhattan’s Meatpacking District, smashing display cases and grabbing more than $116,000 worth of rare Pokémon cards.
“Something is going on with those cards where it’s a hot item,” a police source said.
