A city homeless shelter worker was fatally stabbed in Brooklyn on Thursday night, according to police sources.
The Department of Homeless Services employee, 35, was knifed outside of a shelter on East New York Avenue in Brownsville around 6:20 p.m. and then ran back inside the building for help, cops and the sources said.
The man suffered stab wounds to his neck and abdomen and was bleeding out in the lobby before medics arrived, according to the NYPD and sources.
He was taken to Brookdale Medical Center but could not be saved.
No arrests have been made and the NYPD didn’t immediately have information about the victim’s attacker or attackers.
