Sir Anthony Hopkins buys Goldie Hawn, Kurt Russell’s former LA home for $13m

Sir Anthony Hopkins has quietly purchased the former Los Angeles residence of Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell. 

The 88-year-old Oscar winner, who lost his home in the Palisades inferno in January 2025 — is now scooping up his new pad from real estate developers Bob and Margie Champion for $13 million.

Hopkins’ new home, also located in the Palisades, features nearly 6,400 square feet of living space with five bedrooms and five bathrooms.

The pricey place also features a vine-covered entry with formal living and dining rooms with hardwood floors, crown moldings, and multiple fireplaces.

Other highlights include a temperature controlled wine tasting room and a chef’s kitchen ready for a nice glass of chianti and some fava beans. 

The home, long associated with Hawn and Russell, is known for its privacy and classic Los Angeles architecture, qualities that have historically appealed to buyers seeking some privacy.

Hawn and Russell purchased the home in 2004 for $4.124 million, and sold it in 2017 to the Champion family for $6.9 million, according to records. 

Hopkins has owned a number of California properties over the decades, often favoring established homes in quiet settings over newly built or highly publicized estates.

He previously owned a Malibu residence that narrowly escaped destruction during the 2018 Woolsey Fire.

In recent years, Hopkins has maintained a relatively low profile outside of his work. His memoir, “We Did Ok, Kid,” was released on Nov. 4 of last year, and detailed his battle with addiction.

The iconic actor celebrated 50 years of sobriety this year, writing “one day at a time,” in a recent Instagram post. Those familiar with his past purchases note that privacy, architectural integrity, and a sense of permanence have consistently shaped his housing choices.

The sellers were represented by “Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles” star Josh Flagg — Flagg did not comment on the sale.
