A search is underway for three passengers who went missing after a speeding boat crashed in the Connecticut River on Monday night, officials said.
The vessel was carrying nine people when it smashed into the Old Saybrook breakwall, WFSB reported, citing Coast Guard officials.
Six passengers were rescued and taken to local hospitals, the report said. Their conditions are unknown.
Responders are continuing to search for three other passengers who were not wearing life jackets at the time of the crash, officials told Fox 61.
The Old Saybrook Fire Department is leading the investigation.
Resources from the Coast Guard stations in New London and Cape Cod have been deployed to assist search efforts.
