Trump Stops Meeting with Zelensky and European Leaders to Call Putin

President Trump reportedly stopped his meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and other European leaders to call Vladimir Putin.

German newspaper Gild reported that Trump paused the meeting, and it would resume when he finished speaking with Putin.

According to Axios, two sources familiar with the call also confirmed that the President took a break from his meeting to make the call.

The President is currently meeting with Zelensky, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, Finnish President Alexander Stubb, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, French President Emmanuel Macron, and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.

Earlier, President Trump met with Zelensky one-on-one.

Trump initially said he would call Putin after the meetings to possibly organize a trilateral meeting between Trump, Putin, and Zelensky to finally end the war, The Gateway Pundit reported.

“If we have a trilat, there’s a good chance of maybe ending it,” Trump said of the war between Ukraine and Russia.

The President later revealed during his meeting with all of the European leaders who traveled to the White House that Putin has agreed to accept Ukrainian security guarantees, which Ukraine has demanded.
