Donald Trump implored Joe Rogan to endorse his presidential campaign insisting to the comedian – “You cannot be voting for Kamala.”
The former president made the comments during his interview with the wildly popular podcaster and mentioned how he was endorsed by Elon Musk earlier this month.
“He gave me the nicest endorsement,” Trump said, referring to the billionaire Tesla owner. “You should do the same thing Joe because you cannot be voting for Kamala. Kamala. You’re not a Kamala person. I know you.”
Rogan broke out in a laugh as the ex-president continued to riff.
“I have watched you for so many years. You’re not a Kamala person. You’re a Khabib person – but you’re not a Kamala person.”
That reference to the great Russian MMA fighter Khabib Murmagomedov got another rise of laughter out of Rogan.
Rogan had for years turned down Trump-team requests to do an interview.
On the Lex Fridman Podcast in 2022, Rogan told the eponymous host that he turned away olive branches from the Trump-universe and insisted he did not “want to help” the former president.
“I am not a Trump supporter in any way shape or form,” the UFC host averred.
“I’ve had the opportunity to have him on my show more than once, I’ve said ‘no’ every time. I don’t want to help him. I’m not interested in helping him.”
Rogan referred to Trump as a “man baby” and suggested the famously sober Trump abused prescription adderall, on an episode of the Joe Rogan Experience in 2021.
Sources at the time told The Daily Beast, “The president listens to Rogan. I don’t think the president takes Rogan’s criticism personally, and really, in the end, Donald Trump would listen to a non-politician with some mild criticism more than a politician that kisses his ass.”
In Rogan’s interview with Trump, he told the White House hopeful that he decided he wanted to talk to him after the first assassination attempt.
“Once they shot you I was like “he’s gotta come in here. It’s all about timing. I think our timing is perfect”
