Donald Trump-themed shooting targets being sold on eBay just days after an attempt on the ex-president’s life appear to have been removed following complaints.
The product came in a set of 12 and featured a cartoon-style drawing of the controversial politician.
Trump is dressed in a blue suit and red tie and is holding a gun.
The product was available to buy earlier in the week.
But, after approaches by SWNS to eBay and the manufacturer, it appears to have been taken down — and is no longer available to buy.
Secret Service agents thwarted an attempt to kill Trump, who is seeking a second, non-consecutive term, at a golf course in Florida on Sunday, September 15.
The incident comes just a month after Trump was shot in the ear by a would-be assassin while he was speaking at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania.
The targets were spotted by an eBay user from Coventry in the West Midlands, UK.
He said: “It was stomach-churning when I saw it. I don’t agree with [Trump] or his policies.
Here’s what we know about the assassination attempt on Trump in Florida:
- Former President Donald Trump survived an assassination attempt at Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach on Sept. 15, 2024.
- Trump sent out a statement to supporters soon after to report that he was “SAFE AND WELL.”
- The suspect — identified as Ryan Routh, 58, of Hawaii — was able to get within 300 to 500 yards of Trump at a chain link fence on the edge of the course, where he had an AK-47 and a GoPro camera set up, apparently to record the planned shooting.
- Routh has a history of supporting progressive causes online and has made 19 donations to Democratic candidates since 2019.
- A Secret Service agent spotted and opened fire on Routh as he put his gun through the fence. The suspect fled and was arrested on I-95 a short time later.
- According to Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw, Trump’s security detail was lighter because he isn’t a sitting president — despite the previous attempt on his life in July.
“But I did think, this is a real human. This is someone’s father and grandfather. I don’t think people should be pretending to shoot at real people.”
The 40-year-old, who has two children himself, reported the listing to eBay.
He said: “I reported it because I thought this is inciting of violence over politics.”
He says eBay initially dismissed the complaint and said the product did not violate its policies.
An eBay spokesperson did not comment when approached by SWNS. The manufacturer was also contacted.
But the product appears to no longer be available to buy, as of Friday morning, Sept. 20.
