Attorney General Ken Paxton attended Trump’s State of the Union speech on Tuesday night with Texas GOP Rep. Troy Nehls, who urged Texas Democrats to vote for Jasmine Crockett in the Texas Senate Primary.
The state’s top lawman, vying for the GOP’s US Senate nomination against incumbent Senator John Cornyn and US Rep. Wesley Hunt, was a guest of Nehls at the Cornyn-friendly US Capitol.
Early voting in Texas is already underway for the March 3 primary election.
While walking the red carpet in the Capitol’s Statuary Hall, Nehls and Paxton spoke to reporters, with Nehls giving heavy support for Paxton.
“It’s all over. Ken Paxton is going to be your next Senator,” Nehls told reporters. “So, I want people in the Senate to get familiar with this face. This is the face of Texas right here.”
Nehls further suggested to reporters that President Trump made his pick for the Primary, stating, “When you don’t endorse a 24-year incumbent, what does that say to you?”
Trump has not made a formal endorsement in the race, but he will deliver remarks in Corpus Christi, Texas, on Friday, just days before next Tuesday’s election.
While speaking to The Gateway Pundit, Nehls gave US Rep. Jasmine Crockett a full-throated endorsement in her Democratic Primary, where she already holds a big lead, while slamming her as “crazy.”
“If you’re a Democrat, go vote for her because, let me tell you something, this man’s gonna crush her. This man will crush her,” he said.
“Jasmine Crockett, there’s no room for you in Texas, there’s just not.”

Nehls: I hope Jasmine Crockett— listen, if you’re a Democrat, and you’re voting in Texas, I encourage you go out there and vote for Jasmine Crockett. If you’re a Democrat, go vote for her because, let me tell you something, this man’s gonna crush her. This man will crush her. Jasmine Crockett, there’s no room for you in Texas, there’s just not. Your ideology— you’re crazy! You’re absolutely crazy. Ken passion is going to be the next Senator of the great state of Texas.
