Wacko with rap sheet busted for randomly shoving man, 35, onto NYC subway tracks

A homeless wacko with a rap sheet was busted on Thursday for randomly shoving a 35-year-old man onto train tracks in Brooklyn over the weekend, according to authorities and sources.

Ivan Negron, 39, was arrested around 12:45 p.m. after an eagle-eyed cop recognized him as he walked into the 14th-Street Union Square subway station.

Negron was charged with attempted assault for allegedly walking up to a man on the southbound R train platform at 36th Street in Sunset Park around 4:55 a.m. Sunday, and knocking him to the ground in an unprovoked attack, according to authorities and sources.

The homeless attacker then bolted from the scene — cops later released photos of him in the turnstile area sporting dark, curly hair and a short beard, and wearing a black and gray jacket with khakis.

Luckily, no trains appeared to be arriving at the time the 35-year-old victim was shoved. He was helped back onto the platform by responding officers and taken to NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn in stable condition.

Sunday’s random subway shove was the second such attack of the year. On New Year’s Day, an apparently intoxicated Russian medical student allegedly shoved a 72-year-old man into a moving Bronx train around 3:30 a.m.

Negron was awaiting his arraignment as of Thursday afternoon.
