Cohosts Whoopi Goldberg and Ana Navarro faced off over whether or not people could truly celebrate the coming holiday season with the second inauguration of President-elect Donald Trump looming ever closer once they pass.
During Monday’s broadcast of the ABC midday talk show, Goldberg advised viewers to do what they could to “take care of” their friends and families, saying that there was no way to really predict or plan for what might happen further down the road: “Whatever he’s going to do, he’s going to do.”
Goldberg began by saying everyone should be “making sure that we are taking care of ourselves and our families.”
“Do take our word for it,” she continued. “Things seem to move slowly, because, yeah, they didn’t come get Hillary. But he has other people who are ready to go, but I don’t think that they can just go out and do what they want to do.”
Everyone began talking at once, but after a moment, Navarro’s voice broke through.
“I told you last week, I disagree with you when you say that because — no, because we have the luxury of saying that because we’re legal, we are successful, we are — if you’re an illegal immigrant in this country, you’re not going to be not in a panic,” she said. “If you are a woman working in the Department of Defense, you have a right to be in a panic.”

“Ana, you tell people to stay fraught and like this,” Goldberg pushed back, waving her hands wildly. “That is not —”
“I’m telling people to prepare, Whoopi,” Navarro objected as she and Goldberg continued to go back and forth. “I’m telling people to prepare. That means they can’t be relaxing and enjoying Christmas when winter is coming … people are going to be under his attack!”

Cohost Alyssa Farah Griffin, who left the Trump White House and has vocally opposed Trump ever since, said that she was waiting to see whether the president-elect would make good on his promise to get the Hamas hostages back — and even promised to put on a MAGA hat if he was able to do it.
Her vow got a visceral reaction from cohost Sunny Hostin, who begged her not to do it.
