The Chicago Bulls have reportedly moved to clean house at the top, just days after cutting former top draft pick Jaden Ivey in a controversy that has ignited a nationwide firestorm over faith, free speech, and the league’s political agenda.
According to reports, the Bulls parted ways with both executives after years of mediocrity, including a losing record and just one playoff appearance since 2020.
The team sits near the bottom of the Eastern Conference and has struggled to build a competitive roster despite aggressive trades and roster changes.
Ownership admitted a “new direction” was needed, but the sudden timing came days after the Ivey controversy.
Just seven days ago, the Bulls organization sparked outrage among people of faith by cutting basketball star Jaden Ivey.

Ivey was released for “conduct detrimental to the team” after he released a video of himself calling the NBA decision to celebrate Pride Month “unrighteous.”
Ivey, in a viral video, stated, “They proclaim Pride Month in the NBA. They say come join us for Pride Month to celebrate unrighteousness. They proclaim it.”

In another live stream Monday evening, Ivey questioned why he was waived before speaking again at length about religion.
“[The Bulls] said my conduct is detrimental to the team,” he said. “Why didn’t they just say, ‘We don’t agree with his stance on LGBTQ’? Why didn’t they say that? … How is it conduct detrimental to the team? What did I do to the team? What did I do to the players?”
The Bulls acquired Ivey, 24, from the Detroit Pistons before the trade deadline last month. He was drafted with the No. 5 pick in 2022 and featured early by a rebuilding Pistons team before knee issues limited him to only 30 games in 2024-25 and kept him out for the first 15 games this season. Ivey appeared in only four games for the Bulls and last played Feb. 11 before the All-Star break. The team announced last week that he would be shut down for the season because of a sore left knee.
On Feb. 19 against the Raptors, Ivey did not play because of a coach’s decision, the first time in his young career he had been a healthy scratch. After the game that night, he noted that he “wasn’t the same player as he used to be,” referring to his religion while talking to reporters in the locker room.
“I’m not the J.I. I used to be. The old J.I. is dead,” Ivey said. “I’m alive in Christ no matter what the basketball setting is.”
Now, just days later, the organization itself appears to be imploding.
