Young girls make daring escape from car of LA kidnapper who offered money, drugs before disgusting act

Two teenage girls made a daring escape after a man allegedly tried to trap them inside his car as he offered them money, drugs and alcohol — before unzipping his shorts and asking for sex.

The incident took place after a man drove up to the pair, aged 13 and 16, walking near North Hills Park in the San Fernando Valley area of Los Angeles at Columbus Avenue and Acre Street around 5:20 p.m. last Sunday, ABC 7 reported.

He asked them if they wanted a ride and they declined. The man then followed the teens in his vehicle, asking them a second time several blocks later, and they declined again.

Finally, the man asked a third time and the teens obliged. They got in his car near Nordhoff Street and Columbus Avenue and he drove them to a cul-de-sac near Sunburst Street and Lemona Avenue — not the destination they had requested.

The teens got in the car near the corner of Nordhoff Street and Columbus Avenue and the man drove them to a cul-de-sac — not the destination they had requested.

“Instead of going to the location where the girls instructed him to, the suspect drove to the area of Sunburst and Lemona Avenue … it’s a residential neighborhood, but it’s secluded enough … not enough people or vehicle traffic around,” Detective Efren Gutierrez told ABC 7.

The man then offered the girls drugs, money and alcohol. He then unzipped his shorts and asked for sexual favors.

The girls took action. One exited the car as it stayed motionless, and the other scrambled to leave as the car went into motion. Both successfully escaped uninjured.

The girls, aged 13 and 16, were walking together near North Hills Park when they were approached by the suspect.

The alleged kidnapper is described as a 21-year-old Hispanic male with black hair, brown eyes and weighing approximately 200 pounds, with tattoos on both arms, KTLA reported. His vehicle is an older four-door sedan with an unknown license plate.

Detectives believes the suspect may frequent these areas, per KTLA:

  • Sepulveda Blvd & Nordhoff St
  • Nordhoff St & Columbus Ave
  • Sunburst St & Lemona Ave
  • North Hills Park
