Florida Rep. Anna Paulina Luna claims office received ‘very serious shooting threat’: ‘Hate against Republicans will get someone killed’

Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-Fla.) said Wednesday her office had received a “very serious shooting threat” over the weekend.

“This division and hate campaign against Republicans is going to get someone killed,” the congresswoman, who represents Florida’s 13th District, said in a statement on X.

“I will not be threatened, intimidated, or bow down to those using violence as a means to push their agenda. We will win.”

My office has received a very serious shooting threat.

Luna, a staunch ally of former President Donald Trump, didn’t divulge additional specifics about the threat.

The Sunshine State Republican pledged that her office will “provide more details after law enforcement concludes its investigation.”

Although she didn’t specify the exact time of when the threat occurred, the 35-year-old also noted in a separate statement that “just hours before this threat to my office, we saw how there was a second assassination attempt on President Trump’s life.”

On Sunday, the 45th president survived an assassination attempt at Trump International Golf Club West Palm Beach, which came 64 days after another attempt on his life in Butler, Pa. in which a bullet grazed his right ear.

“I will continue to fight for the wonderful people who have elected me as well as those across the country that feel that they are being left behind,”  Luna vowed Wednesday.

“Please keep my family in your prayers. Hate has no place here.”

US Capitol Police declined to reveal whether or not it is involved in probing the threat, telling The Post, “For safety reasons, the USCP does not discuss potential investigations.”

The Republican congresswoman explained that she and her team “are taking every necessary step to ensure the safety of my family, staff, and our district.”

“Over the last few weeks, I have received an increasing number of threats and doxxing attacks,” she said in a statement Wednesday. “An online page was encouraging strangers to send threatening packages to my home. This weekend, it escalated to a very serious shooting threat.”

Luna claimed that she had been doxxed and had threatening packages sent to her St. Petersburg, Fla. home after her former Democratic opponent labeled her a “threat to democracy.”

The congresswoman, who stopped short of naming her Democratic challenger, Whitney Fox, said her rival’s “irresponsible rhetoric” has led her to suffer an unhinged harassment campaign.

“When you label people a threat to democracy and attempt to dehumanize/lie about them, violence occurs,” Luna wrote in the lengthy Saturday X post.

She accused Fox, a former Pinellas County transportation official who has centered her campaign on reproductive rights, of allowing her Democratic supporters to use the comments section of her campaign’s social media pages to dox the lawmaker.

“The fact that this went on for weeks is not only abhorrent, but also it is shameful,” Luna said, adding that she’d contacted local law enforcement.

Fox did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

In 2021, Luna obtained a restraining order against fellow Republican William Braddock, one of her potential primary rivals, who was arrested in the Philippines last year on a charge of interstate transmission of a threat to injure.
