Vice President Kamala Harris was visibly reactive at several points during her first debate against former President Donald Trump Tuesday, laughing off several of her opponent’s responses.
Harris, 59, flung her head back and appeared to mouth, “Oh, come on” before laughing at Trump, 78, for suggesting that migrants in Springfield, Ohio, were “eating the dogs” in the town.
The vice president licked her lips and narrowed her eyes as she stared in apparent disbelief of the former president’s claim.
Harris has for years faced criticism of her uproarious laughter, with detractors at times questioning whether it’s a genuine expression.
A prominent Democrat told The Post following President Biden’s dismal June 27 debate — which set in motion his retirement — that Harris would be a poor pick to replace him due to the habit.
She busted out her trademark laugh later when Trump accused her of being “a Marxist.”
The Democratic nominee turned much more serious when Trump accused her of “destroying this country.”
Harris pursed her lips, widened her eyes and alternated between tilting her chin up and down after being hit with the charge.
The vice president’s eyebrows shot up about an inch during a subsequent attack from Trump, when he accused her of being “the worst vice president in the history of our country.”
Harris’ neck also got a workout in during the showdown, with the vice president vigorously shaking her head at several points during the debate – such as when Trump touted that NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg praised him for getting members of the alliance to increase defense spending.

The vice president not only shook her head, but she looked away when Trump bragged about his negotiation abilities.
When the topic of race, and Trump’s recent allegation that Harris has only recently been identifying as black, came up, the vice president smiled through the former president’s explanation that he doesn’t care what Harris identifies as.
Her eyes and chin also perked up during Trump’s response before she turned serious, and accused the GOP nominee of attempting to “use race to divide the American people.”
Trump, meanwhile, was sternly serious during much of the debate and did not appear to laugh at any point during the high-stakes forum in Philadelphia.
