CHICAGO — Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has gone viral over what some suspected was toilet paper falling from her pants as she walked on stage Wednesday night at the Democratic National Convention — but a source tells The Post the rampant speculation is incorrect and that it was actually notes.
Pelosi (D-Calif.), 84, left behind what seemed to be a square white paper product as she walked to the podium to address thousands of Democrats — sparking the sickening theory.
Vice President Kamala Harris’ godson Alexander Hudlin’s shoe turned over the item minutes later, revealing a more complex geometrical shape — adding to the mystery.
“It was note cards” that were “folded up” containing her speech, a source familiar with Pelosi’s appearance insisted — after a tweeted video of the incident garnered nearly 2 million views on X.
Malaysian political commentator Ian Miles Cheong, who shared the viral footage, declared it to be “toilet paper” and many social media users latched onto the explanation to mock the senior Democrat.
X users clamored to roast Pelosi in replies.
“Stage hands are quarreling: ‘Who’s going to pick it up? Not me! You! No, you! Not gonna happen!’” wrote one user.
Another joked that the paper “was the chloroform rag she used on Joe Biden,” referencing her reported efforts to convince the president to drop his bid for re-election.
The former House speaker went on to deliver a relatively brief speech of less than 5 minutes.
The item remained on stage when California Democratic congressional candidate Lateefah Simon delivered her speech, but had been cleaned up by the time celebrated TV talk show host Oprah Winfrey spoke not long after.
Pelosi praised Biden in her terse speech for having “one of the most successful presidencies of modern times,” without mentioning her leading role in forcing him to relinquish the presidential nomination last month over concerns about his mental acuity.
