A.J. Brown said he didn’t recall a meeting he had with running back Saquon Barkley and quarterback Jalen Hurts this week following reports that the wide receiver was unhappy with the direction of the Philadelphia Eagles’ offense.
Asked by reporters after the Eagles’ 34-17 loss to the New York Giants Thursday night, Brown said,“I don’t know what you’re talking about” and that he “didn’t recall” any such get-together involving the three.

When Brown was told that both Barkley and Hurts confirmed the meeting, the wide receiver responded coyly, “Talk to them,” according to The Athletic.
The Philly Voice reported earlier this week that the meeting, which lasted a few hours, took place following the Eagles’ 21-17 loss to the Denver Broncos in Week 5. Barkley said during the week that the focus of the meeting was “meant to stay between us” and that the focus was about the team and that the discussion was “a good thing.”
“When you hear ‘players’ meeting,’ that’s like all hell’s breaking loose,” Barkley said on Wednesday. “It wasn’t that at all. But also that we’re teammates, we’re all friends, we’re just having a conversation.”
Hurts also downplayed the significance of the meeting, saying it “really just teammates being teammates.”
“It’s just us talking about the collective, talking about taking ownership for what we can and talking about how we move forward as a team so we continue to find ways to win games,” Hurts said.
Brown hasn’t aired his frustrations about this season publicly. He instead took to social media with a cryptic message following their Week 4 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in which he quoted the Bible.

“If you’re not welcomed, not listened to, quietly withdraw,” the quote read. “Don’t make a scene. Shrug your shoulders and be on your way.”
Brown had only two receptions on nine targets for seven yards in that win over Tampa that helped the Eagles improve to 4-0.
The Eagles have now dropped two in a row for the first time since the end of the 2023 season — where they finished losers of six of seven games, including a wild card round defeat to the Buccaneers.
Brown has seen his targets remain consistent this season and he caught six balls for 80 yards against the Giants. But, for now, he’s focused on the team’s production, not his own.

“You just got to fix the things that you’re struggling with. Learn from winning,” Brown said. “Right now, we’re still on the other side of losing, so we have to learn from losing.”
