A.J. Brown ducked the media after a disappointing performance in the Eagles’ 23-19 loss to the 49ers in the wild-card round, raising more questions about the receiver’s future in the City of Brotherly Love.

Brown had just three catches for 25 yards and had an ugly fourth-quarter drop on a pass that clearly should have been caught, and that’s without mentioning the caught-on-camera moment between the receiver and head coach Nick Sirianni.

But instead of taking a moment to address reporters after the game, Brown reportedly walked into the Eagles’ locker room, dapped up his teammates and on his way out off the room told reporters that he was “about to go,” according to EJ Smith of PHLY Sports.

It wasn’t the first time that Brown had opted not to speak with reporters after a game, but it was certainly notable on Sunday night, considering the way he played and his incident with Sirianni.

It is likely that Brown will take questions on locker clean-out day or speak out on social media.

Brown would have had to field questions about the tense first-half encounter with Sirianni and about whether Brown wants to be traded in the offseason.

Sirianni did speak with the media and explained what had happened between the two.

“I was trying to get him off the field because we were about to punt and that was really it,” Sirianni said. “I love A.J. I think he knows how I feel about him. I have special relationships with him. We’ve probably went through every emotion you could possibly have together. We’ve laughed together, we’ve cried together, we’ve yelled at each other. We’re both emotional.

“I was just trying to get him off the field and that happens in this game, but I love him.”

But Brown has not been happy with the Eagles’ offense at times this season and he has voiced his displeasure plenty of times.

In November, he had firm comments about the offense’s production and he said in November that the offense was “not doing our job.”

Brown had 78 catches for 1,003 yards and seven touchdowns, but his receiving yards were the fewest he’s gotten in his four seasons as an Eagle.
