AJ Brown hasn’t been one to hold his tongue this year, but he certainly clammed up Thursday.
The embattled star receiver, who has become mostly an afterthought in the Eagles’ offense, was asked about a previous report related to frustration with Jalen Hurts, a question that Brown rebuffed.
“Ask me about Dallas,” Brown said while shaking his head. “Thank you.”
A report from The Athletic earlier this week stated that Brown had issues with Hurts, specifically with “his approach against zone coverage.”
Brown has reportedly been frustrated by Hurts’ hesitancy to throw into tight windows downfield.
Brown described Philadelphia’s culture as a “s–t show” while streaming himself playing video games earlier this season, but he later promised the Eagles’ owner Jeffrey Lurie that he would stop complaining on social media.
There has been loads of speculation about what the issues are in Philadelphia.

DeSean Jackson appeared to pour more fuel on the fire this week when he all but confirmed that Brown, a friend of his, and Hurts were not seeing eye to eye.
“As you can tell, it’s something else going on,” said Jackson, who retired with the Eagles in 2023 after a 15-year career that included two stints in Philadelphia. “And I got a great relationship with him. I respect him. I can’t say it. But I know it’s something else going on. It’s not all about football, not all about X’s and O’s. I’ve had situationships with quarterbacks I didn’t necessarily like. And I’m going to just be honest, and when it ain’t there, it sticks out like a sore thumb. That’s all I’mma say.”
Ex-Eagles star and insider Seth Joyner later added that some “consternation” had been brewing in Philadelphia when it comes to Hurts.

Joyner mentioned a specific instance during the Eagles’ Week 6 loss to the Giants when Hurts threw a covered out-route to Jahan Dotson, which was Cor’Dale Flott intercepted and nearly returned for a touchdown.
Joyner said that marked just one example where Brown was supposedly wide open and not looked at by Hurts.

The Eagles (8-2) have still been successful this season behind a ravenous defense, but the internal strife is one to watch as they attempt to repeat as Super Bowl champions.
Brown is on pace for 65 receptions, 777 yards, and five touchdowns this season, and the latter two would mark career-lows.
