Aaron Judge’s ‘obsession’ will fill his quest for Yankees perfection

It isn’t fair, you know. Of course it isn’t fair. It isn’t right. Aaron Judge has been an almost perfect ballplayer to behold on a daily basis from the moment he won an everyday job for the Yankees out of spring training in 2017. When you look up his numbers, they all but emit a glow.

And here’s the other thing: He’s even better than his numbers, even though those numbers include: a lifetime OPS of 1.028; a lifetime batting average of .294; 368 home runs; three home run titles; and now a batting title. He’s also a superior defender. He’s also a plus base runner. He’s also a captain who only symbolically carries the “C” but earns it every day.

“Look,” Aaron Boone says, “Aaron Judge is the greatest player going.”

That’s it. That’s all. That’s perfect.
