AEW will be left to justify its questionable main event decision to end Full Gear

Full Gear was rolling along as one of the most logical and cohesive pay-per-views AEW has ever produced — and then the main event happened.

In maybe the most questionable world championship change in the company’s history, Samoa Joe defeated “Hangman” Adam Page in a bloody steel cage match with plenty of twists and turns that ultimately led to the return of Swerve Strickland from a knee injury on Saturday night at Prudential Center.

Already turning the Page?

The ending to Full Gear was a lot to process. There were some good and some questionable decisions made. The ultimate question is: Was it worth ending Page’s reign, which began with one of the most emotional victories in AEW history, that way? My gut initially says, no. But we will see.
