Angel Reese proudly took a Vogue victory lap in front of her critics Wednesday.
On the same morning Vogue revealed the Chicago Sky forward as one of its cover stars for the Winter 2025 issue, Reese celebrated the news on her social media pages with a jab at trolls.
“I ‘covered up’ and gave y’all COVERGIRL,” Reese posted on X and Instagram.
Reese, 22, stunned in a red Versace dress for her Vogue cover while Olympic sprinter Gabby Thomas rocked a Sportmax top and Tory Burch shoes for hers.
“It’s always been both: basketball and fashion,” Reese told the publication. “… I was always in my mom’s closet, putting on her stuff. I liked to carry a purse. Hair done. I wanted to look put together. I still do.”
The release of Reese’s Vogue Winter cover comes days after she appeared to scrub her Instagram.
At the time, she had shared posts that featured her wearing a cut-out dress on New Year’s Eve.
Reese modeled the same dress in a series of videos on her TikTok page.
The 2023 national champion at LSU has no qualms when it comes to calling out critics.
Upon teaming up with Reebok in October 2024 for her own signature shoe, Reese posted on X, “Looks like I can ‘afford’ my bills now,” in response to comments she’s living beyond her means.
She made $73,439 during her rookie season with the Sky, wrapping up her first WNBA season in September.
The seventh overall pick by the Sky, Reese averaged 13.6 points, 13.1 assists and 1.9 rebounds in 2024 and was named a WNBA All-Star.
She is now preparing for the inaugural season of Unrivaled’s 3-on-3 basketball league, which begins in Miami later this month.
