Anthony Davis was trolled by his wife after getting bailed out by Rui Hachimura.
During Saturday’s game against the Sacramento Kings, the Los Angeles Lakers All-Star Davis nearly clanked away a victory while on the road.
With 12.1 seconds remaining and the Lakers holding a narrow 101-99 lead, Davis missed two critical late-game free throws.
Fortunately for the Lakers, Davis’ fellow frontcourt mate Hachimura secured a pivotal offensive rebound, allowing Austin Reaves to sink two subsequent free throws, sealing a 103-99 victory.
While fans and analysts were quick to comment on Davis’s missed opportunities, the most pointed critique came from his wife, Marlen.
In a post-game revelation, Davis shared, “My wife even called me and said, ‘Rui saved you.’ So that made me feel worse.”

Davis later added, “I definitely appreciate Rui with the tip-out.”
Not ideal given that Davis has gone 6-for-16 shooting on clutch free throws this season.
Overall Davis is having a magnificent season, averaging 26.9 points, 11.9 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game along with 2.2 blocks and 1.3 steals.
Davis is also shooting 52.4 percent from the field and a 60 percent true shooting percentage.
The win puts the Lakers at 16-12 with one more contest, Monday at home against the Pistons, before their highly anticipated Christmas Day matchup with Stephen Curry and the Warriors in San Francisco.
Davis and Marlen were married in 2021 and have been together since 2017.
