Artemi Panarin finally found a new home, as the Rangers traded him to the Kings before Wednesday’s Olympic break roster freeze — that will lift Feb. 22 — and ahead of the trade deadline on March 6.

The Rangers will be a hot mess for the rest of the season, at least, as they look to the future and perhaps more moves.

But they needed to figure out how to move Panarin after general manager Chris Drury opted not to give him a contract extension and the team allowed the 34-year-old to stay away from the team until a trade could be worked out.

The return, prospect Liam Greentree and a third-round pick, isn’t all that exciting, especially for a player as productive as Panarin.
