Bill Belichick’s 24-year-old girlfriend has entered the chat as buzz swirls around the free-agent coach, who has been linked to the head coaching vacancy at the University of North Carolina.
On Monday, Jordon Hudson replied to someone who said, “Tell Bill to come to UNC!!” in a comment on her latest Instagram post, which featured a holiday snapshot of the couple.
“I’ll pass the message along… 😉🩵,” the former cheerleader wrote, adding a winking face emoji and a blue heart emoji.
That same day, Belichick, 72, confirmed during an appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show” that he had “a couple good conversations” with UNC Chancellor [Lee] Roberts.
Hudson also follows the Instagram accounts for UNC Football, UNC Chapel Hill and UNC Football Nutrition.
Hudson has yet to directly address the buzz around Belichick potentially taking his talents to Chapel Hill.
UNC made “a big push” for Belichick on Monday night, according to The Athletic’s Dianna Russini, but nothing has been finalized.
Both sides reportedly “remain apart on multiple key terms” and while a deal could “come together quickly,” multiple sources briefed on the situation said “nothing is imminent.”
The Tar Heels announced they fired head coach Mack Brown after he finished this season at 6-6 and went 44-31 in 75 games over the past six seasons.
Belichick — who pivoted to sports media after parting ways with the Patriots in January following 24 seasons at the helm — has said he wants to coach in 2025.
The eight-time Super Bowl winner is “very surprised” that he has yet to hear from NFL teams about coaching next season, according to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk.
Belichick reportedly hasn’t been contacted by the Jets, Saints and Bears, who have already fired their head coaches this season.
He interviewed last offseason for the Falcons job, which ultimately went to Raheem Morris.
Although he doesn’t have personal ties to UNC, Belichick’s father, Steve Belichick, was an assistant coach at Chapel Hill in the 1950s.
