The NFL coach carousel continues to turn as teams reshuffle their decks.

The Bills joined the Steelers and Ravens, two of the three teams with coaches who had a longer tenure with one coach this season, in the search for a new leader.

Sean McDermott maned the sidelines in Buffalo for nine seasons, and made the playoffs eight times during that stretch, but his 8-8 postseason record ultimately doomed him.

Oddsmakers have targeted a small group of coaches with relatively short odds to replace McDermott, including two coaches with ties to the Bills and two men who will be coaching in the AFC and NFC championship games this weekend, respectively.

Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak is the favorite to be named the next head coach of Bills with +275 odds at DraftKings sportsbook.

Kubiak, the son of Super Bowl winning head coach Gary Kubiak, has been in Seattle for just one season but saw immense success leading the Seahawks to the third-best scoring offense in the NFL.

He is expected be sought after by several teams looking for a new coach despite having just three seasons under his belt as an offensive coordinator with Vikings, Saints and Seahawks.

Former Giants head coach and Bills offensive coordinator Brian Daboll has the next-best odds to be the head man in Buffalo at +350.

Daboll previously spent four seasons with quarterback Josh Allen, including two seasons with the Bills ranked top-three in scoring.

According to The Athletic’s Diana Russini, Daboll’s name “keeps coming up” among NFL execs when talking about the Bills’ options.

Joe Brady, the Bills’ offensive coordinator for the past two seasons has +500 odds.

Whoever ends up getting the job will have big shoes to fill.

Bills players were adamant in their support of their now former head coach. Bills defensive tackle Jordan Phillips described the decision to fire McDermott as “stupid” and “honestly sickening” on social media, adding that McDermott was “the best coach I’ve ever been around.”

Safety Damar Hamlin called McDermott “A True Leader Of Men” in his social media post after hearing about the move.

General manager Brandon Beane, who was elevated to president of football operations after the Bills fired their coach, will be in charge of finding the next one.

It remains to be see if he decides to go with familiar faces like Daboll and Brady or new blood like Kubiak.
