Charlie Kolar is newest weapon for Justin Herbert, Mike McDaniel

The Chargers are adding a top-notch blocker to their tight end room.

But they are also losing a starting guard.

The club has agreed to terms on a free agent contract with former Raven’s tight end Charlie Kolar.

The deal is for a reported  $24 million over three years with $17 million guaranteed.

Meanwhile, a source with knowledge of the situation confirmed that guard Zion Johnson reached an agreement with the Cleveland Browns on a three-year deal with $49.5 million, including $32.4 million guaranteed.

The 27-year-old  Kolar had 30 catches for 409 yards in four seasons with the Ravens. But his calling card is as a run blocker, and he adds an ideal fit for new offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel’s scheme.

The 26-year-old Johnson started 66 of 67 games during his four-year career with the Chargers.

In addition, the Chargers are losing edge rusher Odafe Oweh to the Commanders. Oweh has an agreed to a 4-year, $100 million deal with  Washington.

The Chargers acquired Oweh last season from the Ravensfor a 2026 sixth round pick and safety Alohi Gilman. The Chargers also got a seventh-round pick on the dear.

Oweh has 17.5 sacks over the last two seasons.
