The Washington Commanders have traded wide receiver Jahan Dotson to the Philadelphia Eagles for a trio of draft picks, it was announced Thursday.

In exchange for Dotson, the Commanders will send the Eagles a 2025 fifth-round draft pick and will receive a third-round pick and two seventh-round picks in the 2025 draft.

Dotson, 24, now becomes another offensive weapon for Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts. He’ll join running back Saquon Barkley, tight end Dallas Goedert, as well as fellow wide receivers A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith.

The Eagles had been seeking stability at the No. 3 receiver spot and tried working out Britain Covey, John Ross, Parris Campbell and rookie Johnny Wilson with the first team during training camp.

Dotson could not take hold of the No. 2 receiver position with the Commanders across from Terry McLaurin. His 7.4% drop percentage ranked 10th in the NFL last season.

With Dotson gone, that leaves Olamide Zaccheaus, Dyami Brown, Luke McCaffrey, Jamison Crowder and Martavis Bryant among the names who will battle for the receiving spots behind the veteran McLaurin.

Dotson, a 2022 first-round draft pick out of Penn State, caught 49 passes for 518 yards and four touchdowns last season for the Commanders. The 24-year-old is entering his third year in the NFL and has a total of 84 receptions, 1,041 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns.
