Tony Gonsolin’s winning return Tuesday after 620 days away reduced the number of injured Dodgers pitchers from an MLB high 12 or 13, depending on whether all-everything, three-time MVP Shohei Ohtani counts as injured while relegated to DH.
That’s still a lot, of course. But it’s triggering needless concern for the $399M juggernaut.
In fact, one betting website now has almost everyone’s original favorite (including mine) with only a 5.3 percent chance to win the World Series.
Sorry, but that’s just bad math. This is all very likely wasted worry for perhaps baseball’s richest team (thanks to Ohtani, they edged past the perennially leading Yankees for revenue.)
