Cowboys’ Markquese Bell suffers scary shoulder injury against Texans

Markquese Bell suffered a scary injury during the first half of the Cowboys’ “Monday Night Football” matchup against the Texans.

The Cowboys’ safety was attempting to tackle Dameon Pierce as he was returning a kickoff when the left arm of Bell got bent back awkwardly leaving the defender in severe pain.

Bell could be seen attempting to grab his left arm as he tumbled on the ground.

The injury occurred early in the second quarter with 14:51 left on the clock

Nick Harris of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported that Bell had “come off the field with medical assistance” and had been holding his left arm.

Bell reportedly went right to the medical tent and was later ruled out for the rest of the game by the Cowboys with a shoulder injury after he went to the locker room.

Monday had been Bell’s ninth appearance of the season and he recorded six total tackles and five solo tackles.

Bell is in the third season with the Cowboys after joining the team as an undrafted free agent.

Bell, a Bridgeton, New Jersey native, spent three years at Florida A&M – with his 2020 season being canceled due to COVID – and appeared in 17 games for the Cowboys in 2023.

The Cowboys season continues to circle the drain after falling to the Texans on Monday night.

At the end of the first half alone, the Cowboys had given up 80 rushing yards along with two first-quarter touchdowns.

The game ended with the Texans scoring 34 points on the Cowboys as a disappointed Jerry Jones watched on from the owner’s suite inside AT&T Stadium.

The Cowboys dropped to 3-7 with the loss and will face the Commanders in an NFC East battle in Week 12.
