- Marc Raimondi’s first year covering the Falcons was 2024, but it wasn’t his first year at ESPN. He joined the company in 2019 and was a top combat sports reporter. He also covered professional wrestling and wrote the book “Say Hello to the Bad Guys: How Pro Wrestling’s New World Order Changed America,” which was published by Simon & Schuster in 2025. Raimondi also worked for the New York Post and Newsday, beginning in 2009, covering high school and college sports, plus the NFL, NFL, MLB and NHL.
The Atlanta Falcons dismissed LaTroy Lewis from his role as assistant defensive line coach Friday after sexual assault allegations surfaced against him, the team announced.
The Ann Arbor Police Department confirmed Friday to ESPN that it is currently investigating allegations of sexual assault against Lewis. Spokesperson Chris Page said the Ann Arbor PD was “just recently made aware” of the allegations, which stem from a Dec. 5, 2024 incident while Lewis was on the Michigan football staff.
Lewis did not immediately respond to a request for comment. ESPN has contacted Michigan for comment.
Karen Truszkowski, the alleged victim’s attorney, told ESPN that her client filed an incident report with the Ann Arbor PD and applied for a protective order against Lewis earlier this week.
Truszkowski said her client and Lewis met on a dating app and started communicating in July 2024, while Lewis was an assistant defensive line coach at Michigan. Lewis’ behavior “became increasingly aggressive” over text and phone calls, Truszkowski said.
The two met in person for the first time at Weber’s Hotel in Ann Arbor in December 2024, where Truszkowski said Lewis was supposed to give back goods her client had given him. At the hotel, Lewis raped and battered her client, according to the attorney.
In January 2025, officers from the Milford Police Department, north of Ann Arbor, responded to a call to the woman’s home after neighbors heard raised voices, according to the incident report obtained by ESPN. Both Lewis and the woman told officers at the time that they had gotten into a verbal argument that was not physical, according to the report.
The woman told police that Lewis was a coach at Michigan and “stated that she didn’t want to talk about it,” according to the incident report. No charges were filed.
The attorney said Lewis physically abused her client during that incident but she was too afraid to tell police at the time.
The allegations against Lewis were first reported Thursday night by Darko State Media. The Falcons hired Lewis on Feb. 10 after coaching stints at Michigan, Toledo and UConn. He played defensive line at Tennessee and spent three seasons in the NFL.
The allegations against Lewis emerged less than three weeks after Falcons player James Pearce Jr. was arrested in Florida. The linebacker is facing five felony charges stemming from an alleged incident on Feb. 7 where he crashed his vehicle into a car driven by his ex-girlfriend and WNBA player Rickea Jackson and struck a police officer with his vehicle to start a subsequent chase.
