The best-of-7 series between the Colorado Avalanche and Dallas Stars has delivered on the hype.
Two of the best teams in the NHL all season, hockey fans were foaming at the mouth when it became clear that these two heavyweights would meet in Round 1.
Oftentimes, when that happens, the series fails to meet expectations, but the Avs and Stars have delivered a compelling best-of-7 that will go the distance, with Game 7 taking place on Saturday night.
The Avs are a -144 favorite on the road.

The Avalanche are the better team on paper in this matchup, but the Stars have proven to be a resilient bunch that can compete with Colorado, even without Miro Heiskanen and Jason Robertson, neither of whom will play in Game 7.
The real question that matters for betting on this game is how you think it will play out. If Dallas gets its way, Game 7 will be scrappy and tight, with space and scoring chances at a premium.
If Colorado could script this contest out, they’d write in as much chaos as possible, as the Avs fancy their chances against any team in a back-and-forth contest.
We saw that play out in Game 6, with Colorado winning a wild one, 7-4.
Avalanche vs. Stars Game 7 pick
This is a Game 7 in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, so you’d expect money to show up on the Under 5.5.
That said, the Avs and Stars have played a high-scoring series to date, with 39 goals in the first six contests and 19 in Games 5 and 6 alone.
Although the Stars have won a couple of high-scoring contests, it seems safe to say that Dallas’ best chance to win this game would be in a low-event affair.
Given that I think Dallas is a tad undervalued at home in a Game 7, even without Heiskanen and Robertson, I’ll wrap the Stars in a same-game parlay with the under, since those two outcomes feel like they’d go hand-in-hand.
