Floundering Yankees’ last stand comes with sobering Aaron Judge-Max Fried reality

We have reached the beginning of the last stand for the Yankees.

No more “It is all out in front of them” (citation: Aaron Boone). The Twins are in town for three games beginning Monday. The Yankees have spent two-plus decades destroying even the best versions of Minnesota. They are 123-45 against the Twins since 2002, which includes 16-2 in winning all six playoff series these teams have ever contested.

And these Twins just dealt away half their roster at the trade deadline.

The Yankees follow with series against the Cardinals and Rays, two other clubs so bad in July that they also became at least partial sellers.
